Something that challenged me was thinking critically as a historian, no surprise there, I have always struggled with critical thinking, because I perceived it as being negative and pessimistic. Something I added here, which I am quite proud of, is my Primary Document Analysis.

What makes me proud is that I could look at an article, which turned out to be an article about a religious man, convincing more religious men and women, that the children of Canada needed them to steer them in the right direction, and to maintain the importance of religion in education. I believe I critically analyzed the article, without showing my biases(I am incredibly against religion, especially in education, SHOCKER).

HIST 3510 Primary Document Analysis

This course has been particularly exciting for me because of the flexibility of the assignments, I got to explore my own family history with education, which as absolutely mind blowing thinking about the repercussions of Bill C-31 and what it meant for First Nation women and their independence and their own education. Since I had never thought of that before, I had never thought as to why my aunt was so invested in her education. Which forced my dad to instill that in me.
